What was meant is that no one was harmed or injured in that chase....

I think OJ is the mother of all car chases.

I nearly missed a flight in 2013 maybe? because I was watching a chase in North Hollywood on KCAL. Then they said it was a robbery suspect who knocked over a McDonalds (in either Burbank or Glendale...very fuzzy on details).

I just didn't feel like his crime was worth me missing a flight so I hauled a## to LAX and made it.

Yes, which is why it's called top 10 Southern California Police Chases. I remember watching on KCAL or KTLA in Los Angeles though.

Because the ratings go sky high as the helicopters whenever they have one of these chases live. KNBC did get a GM who pledged they would NOT break-in to programmin nor have any live chases on its newscast. I think she is gone now, and I think they are back with the rest doing Live chases. Money is everything in this great country, and as long as people continue to watch--and it is also a favorite of out of state viewers who subscribe to satellite--the stations will keep on showing them live.

Cheaper to cover than doing actual investigative reporting, or even more in depth crime reporting.

Spectacular crackups sometimes. I saw a guy hit a tree, big tree, nearly knocked it over and totally destroyed the car.

Los Angeles is the Police Chase capital of the world. Even more so with the recent coverage of those knuckleheads doing donuts in Hollywood before turning themselves in on the Eastside.
