honestly i don't know a single person who even had Prince on their spotify or pandora playlist until his death 2 weeks ago. He's as relevant to current pop music as Madonna or Sting, especially since his style of funk was kicked to the sidelines with the hip-hop revolution. When was the last time you heard of a present day artist doing a cover of Purple Rain?

Speaking of that , Prince's music isn't even on Spotify and I doubt Pandora too. He was against those types of services. He also filed a of lawsuits against people sharing his music and concert videos too.

I think it would be great if his family or maybe wealthy industry friends wanted to host something, but I really don't think the City should be doing it. Especially to allow a convicted felon organize it. A guy convicted of armed robbery and bribery.

And this wasn't like back in the 70s or something. He was sentenced in 2008 to 4 years in prison!

This is a negative article about him that was published by the L.A Sun Sentinel about he has been
"been a tormentor to many residents in the Black community and always seemed to be involved in heated confrontations – verbal and at times, physical – with several respected members of the community and even public officials."

Why is the Mayor of the city and city council friendly with a guy like this?
