Yeah, but it's not in the SFV. It's in the basin.

I know it will never change, but who decided that the SFV got to be THE valley when there is SFV, SCV, and SGV?

Just curious, what valley do locals consider Glendale to be in. Any Glendale residents out there? I consider it more SGV-ish because it's residential and middle class, but the downtown area is SFV-ish.

Wikipedia, the ultimate purveyor of truths, states that Glendale is at the juncture of SGV and SFV. It goes on further to state that technically, Glendale is in the SFV. I say it is now part of the Caruso Valley, consisting of The Grove, Glendale, and eventually Santa Anita and Playa Vista.

Geographically, I don't consider Glendale to be in the San Fernando Valley. Because it is on the east side of the Verdugo Hills whereas the S.F. Valley is on the west side (except for the extreme eastern portion of Burbank).

I consider Glendale to be in the middle, all by itself.

And no one has mentioned the other valley north of Glendale - Crescenta Valley, comprised of Sunland and Tujunga (both City of L.A. communities), La Crescenta (part of the City of Glendale), and La Canada (its own incorporated city). If you look at the valley driving west on the 210 right around La Tuna Canyon or Lowell Ave., you can see that it's aptly named. It does indeed look just like a crescent!

THANK YOU!!! I knew I was forgetting one valley, I just couldn't remember which one. I guess it's just because it's so small compared to the others. That is the area of LA that I know the least about. Never seen pictures, have no clue about the races living there, no clue about real estate, safety, etc. Would someone enjoy enlightening me on Crescenta?

Could we call it like Glendale Valley or Verdugo Valley maybe after the Verdugo Mountains?

Does the SCV have many transplants from SFV? Is the SCV "gang free"? How has the SFV and SCV changed in the last decade (for better or worse)?
