I can tell this is a diverse area, how friendly is it to folks from outside the area? Can anyone comment about schools? Thanks!

i have some friends who recently bought a house in culver city and have visited a few times. their particular neighborhood seems quite family friendly (they have two kids). they also mention the schools are very highly rated. CC doesn't seem all that diverse, but I'm not sure what your comparing it to.

Culver City is one of the most diverse places in Los Angeles County. The schools are good, great value though. Though not as great as the South Bay's Beach City schools, Culver City is much more affordable and diverse. Personally, I think it would be a great balance of suburban/urban to raise a child/grow up in.

Very family-friendly. Schools are decent. Crime is low despite some neighborhoods with issues nearby. Very diverse. Unfortunately, very expensive nowadays - it's no longer the middle-class bastion it was for a century.

Agree with almost everyone. Family friendly, Very diverse. Good schools - HS has a solid visual and performing arts program. Community programs including pool and the stairs, a local YMCA. Library was just completely remodeled. Own fire and police dept as well. Decent transportation considering surrounding areas - depending on where you live, single bus will get you to LAX, UCLA, Venice beach. Metro expo line will get you straight into downtown and also SM (SMC, UCLA, 3rd street promenade/pier). Centrally located. A few small areas (blocks) have issues but crime is considered low. Getting very, very expensive though!
