Instead of complaining about there not being employment out there, why don't you make employment out there?

San Fernando Valley Neighborhood Coalition San Fernando Valley Neighborhood Coalition
is newly formed group aimed at attacking the head of the snake.

In every community there are groups of residents fighting the project next door.

We have to come together and unite ourselves for this to work. City Hall is not going to change their position until they are uncomfortable enough. It is our job to make them uncomfortable enough to move.

Right now we have 15 City Councilmembers violating Penal Code 86 on a daily basis working for special interests.
We have a Mayor who has ordered the Planning Department to green-light every project that comes before them no matter what.
We have mature trees being destroyed, cultural and historic homes and buildings being demolished, rent-control demolitions, illegal evictions. . Things are a bloody mess.

Please consider attending an SFVNC meeting or getting in touch with us to get involved.

Many thanks.

What was your position on land development when they built your house?

Not necessarily. The people who move into these new residential development could be moving out of their parent's homes, shared housing situations, etc. In other words, they're already there and there is nothing to "flood".

Regarding traffic, when people live out in the suburbs of LA (and they work in LA), they have to drive in which contributes to the traffic that causes those Sigalerts. And, you realize you're part of the problem, yes? That car you're driving? It's adding to the traffic.

[so obvious]

I like my job, thank you very much.

If you're so sure it's a great idea, how about you go open shop in the middle of nowhere. Good luck!

Why? I'm not the one supporting a population boom. In fact, I'd like there to be fewer people living in L.A. because we're not making any more roads and I'm sick of it taking far too long to travel anywhere. BTW, if you have a penchant for large crowds, why don't you go ahead and move to Beijing?

They want to maintain old patterns of development that have died out decades ago. They have this almost arrogant paranoia that LA is so desirable that if we don't man the gates we will be flooded with hordes of the unwanted. When it's mentioned to them that we are not talking about just transplants but natives too they say they can just move elsewhere, so their nativism takes a more absurd turn as they imply only homeowners in the more expensive areas are real Angelenos. They're the only ones that get to decide the pattern of development and dictate their tastes to the rest of us.

Yes, how dare homeowners have a say in how their neighborhood is developed. "The rest of us" should be able to dictate to them how their once-desirable neighborhood should be changed.

Is the goal to have Santa Monica turn into Manila?
