I am considering a job in El Segundo and need some advice on where to live. I did an apartment search within a few miles and it gave me so many complexes that I can't begin to cover that much ground in the few days I have to find a place.

I am looking for a 1bd apartment that is in the $2000-$2500 range and has all the modern conveniences (allows pets, w/d, parking, concierge, pool, gym, etc.).

Any recommendations for areas, or even specific complexes? I didn't see much in El Segundo, MB, or Hermosa. Marina/Playa Del Ray area seemed to have tons, but almost too many.

El Segundo is where you should live. We have too many people commuting because they want to save a little money, which is why the roads are always jammed up. And if you're working in aerospace then you should be able to afford living in the area.

Looking south of El Segundo, I would check out Torrance. You'll find plenty there. If you're single though, you may not necessarily find the area too enticing though.

Looking north, I'd consider Westchester, Marina Del Rey, or Culver City.

THIS. The secret to sanity and a less stressful life in Southern California is to live near work. The money you think you're saving by living father away in a less expensive area will be eaten up in many other ways, from gas, car maintenance, repairs, accidents, etc. Not to mention fighting the traffic and potential road rage, even if it only manifests in yourself with no physical altercation. Live as close as possible and you will be happier. Not necessarily happy, but happier.

What apartments are in El Segundo? I can't find any when I search for them. I would love to be close, but nothing comes. What are some names of complexes?

The OP can and should live wherever the F&*k he/she wants. Get the f*&k out of this thread with your serial whining.

Don't listen to that one particular poster. He is a serial whiner. You are correct that you won't find the modern complex you are looking for in El Segundo. E.S. is mostly office, commercial and older residential (single family and older smaller apartments). But as you noted there are quite a few in surrounding areas.

This is a decent tool for finding more recently built (10 years) quality apartments.

Pacific Place is El Segundo adjacent. Looks like it might be up against the freeway on one side which might be a negative but it is very close to E.S.

Have you tried West Side rentals?
