I have a nice 1-bedroom apt in Pasadena but it costs over $1400 per month. I thought I could move to Alhambra because it would be cheaper. I went to Craigslist and could find almost nothing for less than $1400. I also tried Pasadena and the only thing less than $1000 per month was a house with six bedrooms and each room is $800 per month!

If it's Pasadena and Alhambra, is that going to be the rate in general? The only alternative seems to be to have a roommate, and I don't want to do that.

Would Monterey Park be much different from Alhambra?

Be grateful you don't live in Sherman Oaks. A one-bedroom in my building is going for over $1,800, and a two-bedroom is $2,200!

I just raised my rental properties rent from $1650.00 to $1900.00. Why you ask? Because I can. The place is being saturated, and newer developments are springing up every 2-5 miles or so, so "Why Not"? I'm not being your typical capitalist, I'm just running a business, like every other business out there. If you don't wan't to pay $1900.00 for a two bedroom apartment in Alhambra and Monterey Park, please feel free to move back to Pasadena, El Sereno, East Los Angeles, Montebello, and any other adjacent cities with lesser inexpensive rent. I probably wouldn't like you as a tenant anyhow. Hard working people won't mind paying for a quality living space, if amongst similar hard working neighbors. No one wants to wake up each morning to go to work, while wondering "How does my neighbor pay for rent, if he's always home?".

Alhambra isn't all that cheap compared to Pasadena. Both cities have cheaper parts that aren't as safe etc...

My friend has a garage apt in Alhambra. He's Chinese renting from Chinese people. He pays $500 and will never leave.
