The Ikea tear-down is old news, but the renderings are now in. One can only hope those 800+ new apartments come with an Ikea gift card.

Here Are the New Renderings of Big Revamp Coming to the Soon-to-Be Former Ikea Burbank Site - Curbed LA

It's got Caruso's fingerprints all over it. It sure looks like he's the developer. That area has desperately needed a facelift for a long time now. I'm not impressed with Burbank, on the whole, though. It's always felt too industrial to me, especially the I-5 corridor.

Better to have a nice shopping center and new apartments than some garbage store like Ikea.

Metrolink and Amtrak stop is only a couple blocks away. Not a subway stop but pretty easy walk for those commuters who move to these apartments.

The apartments at the Americana in Glendale start at $2450 for a 675 sq foot loft. I assume it would be priced comparably or maybe a little less

Not going to happen in our lifetime. We just need to make Metrolink more user friendly which makes more like a Metro System. This includes more frequency and running later in the evening.

They should just have started charging people to live at Ikea. It has everything you need!
