Trash and homeless everywhere, especially around the library. Even goes west all the way up to the affluent Sunset Strip. Down La Brea to Pink's Hot Dogs isn't much better. Not only did the area not improve, it seems to have gotten worse. Why?

I'm actually visiting right near that area and I was just noticing that it looks bad. So much trash on the ground. I didn't notice it 2 years ago when I stayed here but I wasn't walking as much either.

You notice it more when you come back after an absence.

I was up in Washington on business and was impressed how Green and Clean it is.

Came back and the first thing I noticed was trash... I think part of it was my realization as I was only gone 5 days for work.

My guess is a lot of homeless are creating the trash. LA is absolutely over run with them now. And LA is so liberal they are not doing much about it, even enabling them to a big degree

Can definitely say this is true.

There's two homeless guys that live on the corner of our block and I always see them throwing their empty beer cans onto the street and they also leave their empty food containers everywhere. I get so annoyed and sometimes think about going down there to clean it up.

We have a problem near work with an encampment... even set out an extra garbage can for their trash with trash seldom making it to the can.

What I can't for the life of me understand is why so many homeless camps turn into garbage dumps???

It would seem keeping a low profile would be the smart way to go.

Last week the needles and trash started spilling over and the police did a cleanup... 3 days later trash is accumulating...

Homeless encampments in the valley are also getting out of control. The victory blvd on/off ramps at the 170 have a mini city in there. In fact, the 170 between the 101 and victory has multiple camps just off the freeway. Even worse is the creek along Burbank blvd near hayvenhurst in Encino. Carts and tents are everywhere and people walking along what is essentially a freeway in that area.

They're mad at society for their failure at life and don't give a damn about the mess they deliberately make. Also, there's no incentive to clean up after themselves; there's no punishment, no fine, no jail time. If you were a homeless bum, the last thing you have is decency and self-respect, so why treat your camp area with dignity?

It's a harsh view, but, the evidence is right there that most are filthy and are indifferent to the trash and eye sores they cause in public.

It's not just homeless. I still see trash routinely ejected from vehicles. In spite of the potential fines. No enforcement - no problem. Therefore, they throw it out the window.

This is a problem all over the country, not just here. People are just getting nastier in general in my opinion.
