Both I and other posters have explained it more than once. If you are unwilling to accept reality, well, that's on you.

I guess the fact that I've said several times that I'm not going to just up and move to LA means nothing.
You're right, it doesn't mean much - especially not when you keep talking about having a plan to eventually move but not talking about what that plan is or exactly why it is you believe you'll fit in L.A. better than MI.

You think I'm clueless because you think I don't know it's not going to be easy living in LA. That I shouldn't think I'll be able to get a job in the career field I want. That I don't have a plan put together and that I'm basically just going to come without a job etc. But I've already said that I'm not going to do that. Making a plan doesn't happen overnight either you asked me how much money would I save up. I believe I would need to save at least $10,000.

Let's move beyond why I think you're clueless. What I think of you isn't the most important thing here. The fact that you keep zeroing in on the unimportant side issues is problematic, but let's leave even it alone for the time being.

What IS your plan? Numbers would be helpful (primarily to YOU).

Well as far as money is concerned I would need to save a least $10,000 this is just an assumption by the way. I just wonder if I use public transportation would that be cheaper than having a car. I'm sure car insurance there is probably more expensive.

That would be a correct assumption. If you are able to put that kind of kitty together by living with the parents, then it's a worthy sacrifice. As far as having a car - you really need one in L.A., so insurance should absolutely be a consideration; do you have one now?

Here's another question - what do your folks think about you potentially moving to L.A.?

But I've seen where people have said they made it saving have that amount but I everyone is different. Of they don't like the idea of me moving to another state away from family. I told them that I know a few people who live there. They told me that I really don't know these people. Just because I've only spent a few days with them doesn't mean I know them.

I'm not sure what you mean here.

Correct. Your parents aren't wrong here. How DO you know those people?

I understand what they mean that I don't really know the person as who they really are. Like how they are on a daily basis etc. When I say I know someone who lives there I just mean in a general way. It takes awhile to get to know someone and even then you may not really know them.

Tragic that a 30 year old adult is prevented from doing what she wants due to her parents.

OP, hunni--- you're 30 now. Time to live your life.

I've read on the internet on different sites where people have said they were able to make it saving up lets say 5,000. But as I said everyone is different I don't know how far 5,000 would get you. Like some people say save at least for up to 6 months.
