I see and hear all this new crunk, autotune, billionaire, monotone rap crap that's out today, and I'm ashamed. I shake my head. How can this even pass as art, let alone music? I'll give Kendrick Lamar some cred, but that's it. What happened to Dre and Snoop? Nate Dogg and Warren G? Daz and Kurupt? Montell Jordan? Ice Cube and Game? NWA and Xzibit? Even KDAY plays some new crap now, what happened to "classic Hip Hop", KDAY?

All I can say, is Snoop Dogg "G Funk Intro". That songs theme, lyrics, and beats sum up the peak of some real a** stuff. L.A. aint coo no mo

LOL. That's funny. But really, stop it.

I agree with fieldm, all mainstream hip hop from everywhere sucks today, for the most part. There are a few exceptions, like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Chance the Rapper, and Eminem (Drake is fine, I guess), but hip hop/rap is a joke today in comparison to what it was back in the 80's and 90's.

This thread should probably be in the music forum.

There is good music out there in all genres but it doesn't get radio play .
Unfortunately stuff that gets played on radio is watered down.
it gets played because the record companies pay or give favors to the radio stations or have connections .

Spotify at $10 a month is a pretty good value since you can listen to pretty much anything , old or new .
You can also download over wifi on your phone and listen to it later without paying streaming charges .

Nate Dogg is dead. Montell Jordan was never a rapper.
