Thank you for explaining it to me in simple words I can understand!

Seriously, anti-social behavior exists everywhere. The more concentrated people get the more anti-social behavior occurs. Imagine being alone in the middle of the desert and trying to do something anti-social.

I'd treat it like any other traffic obstacle, find another route, drive around it.

Critical Mass happens every month in LA and around the country will full support of police who shut down roads. But in general cyclists are allowed the same rights to the road as motorists in CA.

I remember when a rock band planned an impromptu event on one of L.A.'s freeways, and suddenly blocked the freeway with a few vans and trucks, got up on top of the truck and held a concert!

It lasted until the police got there and arrested them and had their vehicles towed. Good publicity. Not!!!

Maybe drugs do rot your brains...

Or a couple years ago when this motorcycle gang shut down the 10 so one member could propose to his girlfriend

Both of them, bloated egos and selfish, unthoughtful people.

Boys will be boys. Gotta let them be a little stupid from time to time.

It is a bit annoying when I get slowed down by them, but, I don't see the harm.

And just because black boys hang out together wearing street clothes, that doesn't make them gangbangers.

While it is true that cyclists have the same rights and responsibilities as motor vehicles the general rule is for cyclists is that they have to ride as far right as practicable. Sometimes that means they can take the lane, other times it means they cannot. Personally I'd rather be out of traffic in a bike lane but that isn't always an option. I rode 10k miles last year on my bikes so I'm pretty familiar with the laws.

Parts of the video appear to happening during a sanctioned event like CicLAvia while other parts seem to be random. But in response to your actual question, yes bike riding crews are legal. What...you've never seen bicyclists riding in a group?

Regarding the statement about youthful inner city kids participating. That's what I would expect. A good number of them live there so why wouldn't they participate?
