For someone desperate like me not trying to pay 9 dollars each way on FlyAway bus, is there any free alternatives? I'm okay paying 1.75$ if it's Metro's MTA bus.

My flight fare was expensive as it is, i hope you understand.

The shuttle is free. It is the "G" shuttle. You can also use the "G" shuttle to go back from the airport to Aviation station.

Good to hear

Can anyone who has taken advantage of the service talk about their experience? Is it frequent?

The G shuttle is free but you have to show them your tap card. Google maps says it's a 55 min walk. It's just under 3 miles, so if you huff it you could make it in about 45 minutes. The G shuttle bus is about a 10 min ride and runs every 15 mins or so.

But depending on where you are going, the FlyAway is probably the better option, even if it costs $9 more with FlyAway + a transit fare to get you to your final destination than using trains the whole way. If you are going to downtown, the FlyAway Union Station to Red/Purple line will save you an hour and a half over G shuttle to Green to Blue to Red/Purple. If your time is worth that little to you, it's probably worth noting the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station where you have to change from the Green to Blue line is one of the more sketch stations in the whole system. 6% of all serious felonies reported all on public transit in LA county in FY 2014 occured at the station, about 1 serious felony every 3 days. Daytime there were enough people around that it felt ok to me, but I would avoid it at night, and would advise women to avoid it as even in the middle of the day there were thugs catcalling and just generally harassing women and girls there.

If you don't want to pay for Uber, the FlyAway is a good option. The trains won't be until the new lines get built and then extended to the Purple line.

Very easy to use. Shuttles meet each train and are free with your TAP card.
