Everybody will be looking for Cheech & Chong. And Spiccoli will become a popular baby name.

Smoking isn't allowed in many places so no, I don't expect it to go down like the OP speculates. In fact, CA would probably clamp down even harder on where/when smoking can occur. Some hybrid of tobacco/alcohol regulations I would imagine.

But I pass people regularly walking down streets who are smoking, and many times when I walk past a restaurant with an outdoor section I smell cigarette smoke. Keep in mind we have a lot of diversity here who bring with them their smoking habits.

I know a couple years ago in Colorado they had medical or recreational stores.
I'm not sure if the medical shops were phased out.

I'd imagine the recreational shops would be much more lucrative because you could sell to anyone with a valid I.D even if they are out of state.

Considering that CA is such a big tourist destination it could likely have a big impact.

It's a good question though as to where people will smoke it. None of these dispensaries in the other states allow smoking on the premises.

Personally don't think it's great if we have a bunch of stoned tourists driving around especially since tourists can barely drive in L.A as it is.

I'm not expecting we will see any of the money. Will the potholes and sidewalks get fixed with Marijuana money?
Will the homeless population go down?

Here in Toronto there is an old bank building across the street...It is not the primary pot store in town. There is a constant stream of people going in and out...I would say the average buyer spends roughly 60 bucks...and on a busy day I would assume there are at least 400 people buying dope.

The human traffic going in surpasses the number of customers that go to the liquor store. It is the easy availability of pot in Toronto that is going to be a problem...people that smoked occasionally can now smoke everyday.

Also because our Prime Minister got the young vote by promising to make pot legal has not made it officially legal yet...so there is confusion. People assume that it is legal because Justin Trudeau says it is okay....what they have not figured out yet is how to manage the quality and safety of pot...and how to tax it.

There is a make shift form of taxing pot at present. They allow pot stores to operate for short periods - then the cops raid them and take the money and dope...so they area closed down for a couple of days then open..

From what I heard - the pot dealers have runners that take the cash to the bank as fast as possible so the cops do not get it first...it is actually funny and odd. The government really did not have a proper plan...The young Prime Minister is a jerk who used dumb pot heads to get elected.
