I know there was a law in Fort Lauderdale,FL a while back that made it illegal to feed the homeless on the street..it was controversial of course and I think it was overturned..an extreme measure, but I never really noticed many homeless there.
By the beaches in L.A it's packed with homeless.

Unfortunately people will take advantage. being tolerant doesn't mean we should tolerate public drug use, drinking in public parks with kids around aggressive panhandling or mentally ill behavior.

That's basically what the politicians in L.A have asked us to do in regards to the homeless. The tone is , "they are homeless...just let them do whatever".

Other cities don't tolerate it , yet we are supposed to tolerate it so we can say we are politically correct?..

Here is the problem California is facing.

In order to deal with long term homelessness, they do need to spend more resources on housing people and it should be scattered throughout the region. No doubt about it, and there's really no other way around it.

However.............

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapiro_v._Thompson

There's a Supreme Court ruling giving Americans the right to travel to whatever state they want, and if they want to apply for welfare in that state, said state cannot deny them or place residency restrictions on them.

Yes, REALLY

https://www.michigancapitolconfidential.com/22816

Bloomfield Hills which is a suburb of Detroit has a medium family income of 200,000. Higher than Beverly Hills, let that sink in for a moment.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomf...ills,_Michigan

Birmingham also over 100,000
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham,_Michigan

There are countless wealthy cities like this all around the Detroit region.

Also, the Packard plant (the factory in the photo you posted) is being renovated and Brush Park is seeing massive luxury developments currently under construction.

But what about Los Angeles? hurp durp
How many people live in Bloomfield Hills or Birmingham, Michigan?

Though maybe more actual homeless than way back in the 1950s, it has always been a third world country. Back then though, you were not allowed to be homeless on the streets after a certain time. You were hauled off to spend the night or more in jail.

DC is pretty bad as well: so in the bay area.

It's commendable what this man is doing to try to assist the homeless.

The homeless problem is not just in the US. Canada has a very serious problem with homelessness, especially in the Vancouver and Victoria areas.

Canadian homeless must migrate there for the relatively mild weather just as the homeless migrate to California, Hawaii, etc.
