Panera Breads? What about Walmarts? Can a brotha get a cheap tie, some groceries and a box of bullets at 9pm when he needs to? Goodness LA sucks.

It looks like you need to have a net worth of $7,500,000 to open Panera's and they don't allow you to just open one.

Panera Bread does not sell single-unit franchises, so it is not possible to open just one bakery-cafe. Rather, we have chosen to develop by selling market areas which require the franchise developer to open a number of units, typically 15 bakery-cafes in a period of 6 years.
Panera Bread franchises must be well-capitalized to open great bakery-cafes and meet this aggressive development schedule. Additionally, they must have a proven track record as excellent multi-unit restaurant operators to operate great Panera Bread bakery-cafes.

Many in L.A seem to hate Walmart because they associate it with Middle America , which they seem to despise and look down on.

Target is fine though and it means you are urban and hip if you shop there.

Why not more Paneras? Maybe because they're terrible. They've been plating cafe food on cool plates and overcharging Americans for years.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of Panera. I guess it's quick and relatively cheap, but it doesn't have much flavor.
I haven't really had anything appetizing there.

It's not even cheap anymore. $8 for some MacNCheese, basic soups are $6, full sandwiches are $9. Kudos to their marketing manager/s and merchandising experts because they're selling basic foods at a premium and people keep asking them to build more locations.

Yeah , I'd rather have a subway sandwich . Subway has improved a bit recently.
