So I found this video...

Watch the vid and you'll see what its really like living in the barrios of South LA. Gangs, guns, violence, and crime galore. Go to around Maple Ave S & E Adams Blvd (90011 zip code) in South LA and this what it be like. For those of you living in Malibu, Beverly Hills, West LA, Hollywood Hills. Just imagine what this 90011 place was like 20 years ago when LA was averaging a 1,000 murders a year. Or even 10 years ago when LA was named murder capital. A far cry from recently.

Homicides hard to solve in this South LA 90011 ZIP code deemed ‘war zone’ - Pasadena Star News

And I thought Santa Ana, CA was bad!

What you think?

I've lived in South Central all my life. It's not as bad as people think it is.

People are ignorant.

Palm trees and good weather make it seem less ghetto, but no thanks.

I live right off of Western and Florence, which is considered to be South L.A. And no, it's surely not as bad as folks imagine it to be...or what this video shows.

Thing is, idiots act like the ENTIRE area is the same exact thing, without realizing that even as a city, "South L.A" might be what...100,000-200,000 people? I'm not sure, but any regular city that size will have some great and not so great areas. Regardless, there's a lot of clean blocks and neighborhoods, along with shopping centers, that don't deal with much nonsense at all.

My friend shot this Rap video here at my house and in my neighborhood...it surely don't look like West L.A., but doesn't look like Iraq or 1946 Hiroshima, either.

Many parts of South LA don't look any worse than middle class parts of the Valley and Middle LA. Small houses, sure, but nice green lawns, trees, well maintained, etc.

Well, that depends on your level of exposure and sensitivity to such environments.. I live in a not so ideal neighborhood, but my neighbors who are ghetto and rowdy would come up with a similar response as yours.. They are used to living in such conditions or they have a far less sensitivity level to being exposed to dark negative elements in the neighborhood/city..

How would you know? You just live there.

The only people who know how bad it is are those who never set foot there.

People have no regard for human life in South Central. Until they get a moral compass in South Central things will never change.
