I've only visited NYC but don't have a desire to live there .
I can see how the energy of NYC can attract people though . Much more a fast paced city.
I always heard people saying that L.A is more laid back and I didn't really get it until the last trip I took to NYC.
People are just a lot more in a hurry there and impatient .

A lot of people complain that not all of L.A is dense but I like that you have a variety of neighborhoods with some being very dense and others more quiet.
L. A.'s fine the sun shines most the time
And the feelin' is laid back
Palm trees grow and rents are low

But you know I keep thinkin' 'bout
Making my way back

Well I'm New York City born and raised
But nowadays I'm lost between two shores
L. A.'s fine
But it ain't home
New York's home
But it ain't mine no more

The air is bad, trust me.....I work in the port, I know. Even when a storm blows through with good amounts of wind and rain like all of this January basically.... you can still barely see the San Bernandino mountains when the clouds eventually clear. Living in Colorado gives you a whole new perspective on air quality.

Pretentious people are everywhere in L.A., not just actors or people involved in entertainment fields or sports.
They're in every city in America for that matter, my point is for me I had to get out of L.A. to see it for what it is and gain perspective on it. I'm happy with my decision to get out.
I live near the San Gabriel mountains and have enjoyed seeing the snow covered peaks all winter. The extreme green of the hills make me realize So Cal is a very beautiful place to live.

LA is a fun and lively city that has a lot of enjoyable things to do, but I just prefer the urban jungles or Chicago, San Francisco, and NYC a lot more.
