This statement about "too much immigration" tells me the dream is still alive.

The dream is over for those with modest incomes. However it not for those that have enough money to have a good life here. I for the one is lucky enough to have enough income to have a wonderful life here.

Imagine what it's like for those of us who lived there over 60 years ago.

But is the Dream over? Not for true dreamers. I just hope they're prepared and won't be disappointed. There's nothing worse than having your dreams dashed on the rocks of reality.

My dream was to live as close to as many In-N-Out's as possible. So for me, the dream is still very much so alive.

Working people and jobs are fleeing this state; while illegal aliens, welfare recipients, homeless, and military-aged male Muslim "refugees" stream in. Yes, they all have a "dream", but that dream sure as hell isn't mine; especially when they fervently believe I should pay for their dream while blaming me for all of their woes.

Your dream is over.

Are you implying that California just isn't white anymore? And that's a problem?
If your implying illegal immigration, then go after the companies that illegally employ them (and underpay them for the work they do).

The skyrocketing prices is because certain generations are trying to keep things the same because they want THEIR dream to stay the same. But things change and they can't accept it.

We are a global city. Global state. Next to that of New York and other major cities.

Go to Temecula, it's nice there and a real suburb.

Thanks.

My father remembers Orange County, CA when it was mostly orange groves, bean fields and dairies. I keep meaning to record his memories because so few remain who remember it that way.

It's hard to let go of a place because there are always remnants and traces. Think about it: if people from ancient Rome were still alive today they'd still see a lot of their beloved Rome in Rome today. Even though it's gone, it's not, but it is.

I see, I just wanted to understand where certain people were coming from when we talk about "the dream being over," thank you for clarifying.

Southern California keeps growing, areas that were run down in San Diego and Los Angeles in the 80's, 90's and 2000's are gentrifying and up and coming, the dream is not over for many "working people."
