Exactly . His message is don't worry if you can't afford L.A we'll just subsidize you . This is of course the politically correct thing to say instead of the honest thing .

Developers aren't going to set aside a bunch of units of "affordable housing " in luxury buildings out of the goodness of their heart . They are going to receive tax breaks etc . That means money that is not spent elsewhere in the city .

why should so many people be subsidized in luxury buildings simply because "they are attracted to la and want to live here ?"

Id say both. But I do hate how slow it is at being built. If an olympic eveny may speed things up however.

Public transit is one thing but subsidizing everyone and anyone from all over the world that wants to live in L.A is another

But how will transit options ever catch up with population density increases if we expand both simultaneously, especially when it takes far less time to construct buildings than it does more transportation arteries?
