Anyone know about the internships that are offered at the movie and music companies? (Sony, WB, MTV) As in how does the experience rate or is it a bunch of slave work. Would anyone suggest a temp stay in LA for a summer internship? I'm not sure if it is something that would stand out on a resume. It isn't paid, but I didn't know if the experience would be good to land a job.

It really depends on you. You never know who you'll work with and where they will end up. Treat it like you are getting paid like a CEO. You never know who is paying attention or who will notice you. Keep your eyes and ears open and learn as much as you can. You never know when an opportunity will present itseslf and try to socialize with people in the lower ranks, they are the ones who know where all the bones are buried. Just make sure your contribution/presence will be welcome. Blend in, but stand out. Good Luck.
