I've given up on dating websites so figure I might meet a guy through meetup BUT that wouldn't be my main reason for joining. I'd like to get out more. My interests are walking (city and country), food (eating and cooking), politics and art related. Would prefer mixed male-female groups. I'm not on social media at all (besides forums like this).

However, I'm open to other activities -- just can't think of specific things at the moment. Please post the pros and cons of your group so others may benefit. Also the general age range of members.

Any new meetup groups you've found for socializing or just making new friends?

There used to be a great one out of Pasadena that was a Social group an several relationships came around organically but it was dissolved some years ago.

Sherman Oaks has a Happy Hour group.
There's a few Board game groups as well.

My suggestion would be if you can't find one, make one.
