What are these areas like as far as nightlife and or crime? Any input is appreciated. I'm looking to start a job about a 1/2 mile southeast of dodger stadium late July and trying to narrow down areas for apartment rentals. I already have a large area to look, Culver City, West Hollywood, east Hollywood, silverlake, los feliz, Glendale, Koreatown, etc but I'm curious about bicycle district and sunset junction. Thanks

I had a buddy who lived in Sunset Junction area for a while. It's a decent spot that's close to a lot of amenities although it wouldn't be first choice. Other areas of Silver Lake further north and/or closer to the reservoir are nicer with good bars and restaurants in the area.

Had never heard of the Bicycle District until now, but looked it up and saw it's the part of East Hollywood near Virgil Village. This is a marginal area at best as there's a fair amount of crime in the area and it's quite grungy. I'd avoid it.

Of the areas you've listed, East Hollywood and Koreatown are higher crime. There is great food in these areas, but I don't see much appeal otherwise. Very congested and mostly grungy with a lot of homeless.

Los Feliz is a nice, safe area with a lot of good restaurants and generally low-key bars. Plus, it's right next to Griffith Park which makes for easy hiking access. It has more of a homey, neighborhood feel, which isn't always easy to find in this city.

West Hollywood is a safe area with lots of nightlife. A lot more upscale, trendy bars if that's what you like.

Glendale is also a good choice. It's a safe city and if you're downtown, you'll be walking distance within a lot of amenities and shopping. It's more suburban but there are still things to do.

Culver City is also a good choice but you'll have the longest commute from there of the places you've listed. Also, not necessarily a lot of nightlife.
