Hello there, looking for suggestions on where to spend 4th of July.

New to the area of West LA (Culver City) and was wondering where most young adults (mid to late 20's) go?

Is there any outdoor parties or festivals at the beach that allow for drinking outside? Also how is the firework show in Santa Monica or Venice.

Thanks for the help!

I have a related question: in Pasadena or nearby, is there a place to watch fireworks for free?

The only thing I know is the Rose Bowl but it's not free.

West Los Angeles College has a show, how good it has been I don't know. I do believe they have a $5 or so charge to get on campus that day. Exposition Park next to the LA Colosseum is free.

Marina del Rey puts on a nice show. It's free other than parking. Probably the best viewing area is at Fisherman's Village. My friends and I often plan dinner at El Torito and then stroll outside for the fireworks. Do get there early as it gets very crowded and be prepared to not get out of the Marina for a while afterwards.

We're going to anchor off of Catalina Island and watch the show from the boat.

I went to the Pasadena City Hall to see if I could see the fireworks from there. I could see very little due to trees and the buildings NW of there.
