Since I've been living there for the past year + I have discovered how bad the air quality is there. There have been weeks at a time this summer where Santa Clarita had by far the worst air quality in the country where only SCV and parts of Riverside where the only places in the United States in the hazardous air quality zone. The air quality is basically a result of the being in a valley where pollution doesn't escape and being surrounded by the 5 and 14 on all sides which have tons of traffic and are on trucking routes. Add to that population growth in SCV and people commuting through every day from Palmdale/Lancaster and then add tens of thousands of more people with this expansion of homes and business and their cars and we'll all be wearing rebreathers every day to go outside. But you can't stop progress.

Suburbia is dead. Millennials all eschew cars and want hip 5 story urban lofts, quick hook ups, tasty locally sourced food and close hang out spots. No person alive wants to buy a suburban home...

No one...

Meanwhile, in the news: Newhall Ranch, largest ever tract...
