vehicles arent the problem, the problem is they dont enforce weight limits on streets and they always go with the lowest bidder to pave it.

And very little preparedness sinc eit was inevitable that we'd have tons of people. You'd think the 2nd largest city in the U.S. Would be better equipped..

I have commuted from LAX to OC for the past 25 yrs now. Rush hour used to start around 4pm. Now rush hour starts around 1pm and keeps getting worse each year. Friday before a holiday weekend even worse. My soul is broken.

Massachusetts has a Dem government? West Virginia and North Carolina have Repub governments?
Those states elect split tickets. Unlike Californians they realize that you don't have to vote for the same party in both state and federal elections.

One reason the roads suck.

--
Over the last two years, Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Budget and Finance Chair Paul Krekorian have cut the funding from the General Fund to the Pavement Preservation Program by over 50% (from $52.3 million to $25.5 million). At the same time, General Fund revenues have increased by $435 million.
Underlying the budget cut for the Pavement Preservation Program is the ever growing expenditures for personnel, ranging from increases in salaries; pension contributions; health, dental, and other benefits; workers’ compensation benefits; and police overtime.

Have to agree with you on this one and since when does the governor, regardless of party control the roads?
The biggest problem with Ca roads are not all of Ca but the heavily populated regions. So many cars and bound to affect the road conditions. I don't think Ca. has any worse roads or any better than most states we have visited, but a hell of a lot more people.

Glad you guys have to live with him and we don't. We may not be the richest state in the union or the smartest, but we sure know how to pick our leaders. Now this has not always been the case, you understand.
