Just breaking on the TV news.A guy was stealing beer and the security guard chased him and he stabbed the guard. Poor guy was just doing his job and had no idea this would happen. And he probably didn’t make much. The murderer ran into a house and the police got him. Probably a homeless bum the Food for Less people have had trouble with him before.
I go to this store all the time. I don’t think Sylmar is a high crime town. LA county is over 10 million and crime of all kinds happen all the time. There are some homeless but not near as much as many areas.

One of the many reasons I dont shop at any Food For Less or Vallarta markets. They tend to almost ALWAYS be in sketchy areas.

Presumably the stores are obligated to let these freaks into their stores for fear of running afoul of organizations such as the ACLU. I remember, when I was a boy, seeing bums asked to immediately leave restaurants, donut shops, etc. by the staff. However, that does not occur to my knowledge in times of late.

A store security guard is not allowed to carry a gun. Clearly it can be dangerous dealing with these people. The security guard should have called the police instead of putting his life in danger.

Ruin your life and the life of another for some beer? What a waste.

Decades ago, nobody took **** from these people. These days, particularly with a snowflake mayor, bums know people can't stand their ground and tell them what to do for fear of legal repercussions, which is why I'm opposed to having these non-stakeholders traipsing about and doing as they please.

Better to observe and report. No need to put yourself at risk for minimum wage.

I don't think the security guard has to worry about getting overcharged for food anymore.

Since when are store security officers not allowed to carry a firearm? I've seen a lot of armed security officers at retail businesses.
