It was the leader of a student group and yes they are complete and total idiots to bring this up. This is going nowhere fast, thankfully. The University does not agree and will not change it. It is not even a reference to Lee. Refer to the Bill Maher video I linked earlier for an example of this B.S.

This P.C. crap works both ways these days. Just look at Trump: he casually referred to U.S. intelligence agents as Nazis earlier this year. Yet when actual neo-nazis protest and invoke his name he has to be goaded and cajoled into calling them out. That is beyond stupid...but what else can you expect from a reality TV star turned political demagogue.

I am willing to excuse a 20 or 21 year college student for being young and naïve. There is no excuse for the 71 year buffoon in the White House.

I was half joking when I said this but it looks like it has already begun (not in LA though yet).

oh please..the theater company made that decision, they were not threatened or forced. You don't want a baker to be required to make a "gay wedding cake" but you complain when a theater owner decides not to show a movie?

It is the reasons behind each decision and the impact it has. The two are not directly related.

Society is deteriorating and tolerance is non existence anymore.

Well if nothing else the name did bring a lot of news to the TV for a few days.

I think it is pretty apparent how you feel but we do not all agree. I can say Bill Maher is a jerk or worse, but that is just an opinion. You are calling our president a buffoon and seem to think it is fact, not just an opinion.

PC or not, let the statues stay BTW/

Mike the funny thing about you is that this is not you trying to be ( funny and clever ) but you really being quite serious and believing this garbage !!!

1.Don't you realize that the vast majority of Germans over the history of the nation state of Germany ( never were Nazis and white supremacy).

2. That all white males were not slave owners and supporters of slavery and supporter of the genocide and oppression of the Black African race...!!!

3. And here you get ( really clever ) don't you realize that ( the concept of homosexual and gay marriage) did not even exist during Martin Luther King lifetime...LOL.

Who the heck is Saint Monica(?)..

And here is the Clincher did you not know that hundreds of thousand of white males gave theirs life blood to liberate black Africans from systemic government control genocide.

Over the threat of slavery ending? Something they didn't even benefit from? The fact is that the South didn't collapse once slavery was abolished, even though much of the infrastructure and billions in personal property had been destroyed by the North, thus proving, empirically, that slavery wasn't even essential to the south and provided little or no economic advantage. The impact of foreign markets for textiles and the invention of the cotton gin may have taken up some of the slack, of course, thereby lessening the impact, but the point is, it really had no major impact because most people and most of the economy didn't derive any economic benefit from slavery before the war, and if anything it hurt them via wage suppression - how much can you charge for your labor when the "competition" works for "free"?? (in actuality the cost is room and board and living expenses, but zero in cash wages).

The institution of black slavery didn't miss a beat after the (Civil War) it went on in the form of (Jim Crow law and sharecropping) same system just different names.
