Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong may well be a Trump supporter. Yes, seriously. Things may well change.

"In my 43 years as a journalist, armies of trained bloodhounds have been run out of newsrooms where I've worked, victims of layoffs, and buyouts, and battle fatigue. I've lost so many hundreds of colleagues, I can't keep track of where they ended up.

These were smart, curious reporters, photographers and editors who told stories that defined place and time and made us all know each other a little better. They covered the arts and the local sports teams. They bird-dogged city councils, courts, law enforcement, school districts and other agencies that spend our tax dollars, bearing witness, asking questions and rooting out corruption..."

So far it hasn't changed one drop. The whole paper is nothing but bash Trump and Republicans.
Thats not journalism.

"Jimmy DeButts, an editor for the Capital Gazette website, published a heartfelt tribute on Twitter about the craft of his fellow journalists, with a nod to the struggles of many local newspapers to continue working under tough economic conditions.

“There are no 40 hour weeks, no big paydays — just a passion for telling stories from our community,” DeButts tweeted. “We keep doing more with less. We find ways to cover high school sports, breaking news, tax hikes, school budgets & local entertainment.”

DeButts added: “We are there in times of tragedy. We do our best to share the stories of people, those who make our community better. Please understand, we do all this to serve our community.”

What all newspapers try to do. A reminder.

Suspect in Maryland mass shooting had longstanding grievance with the newspaper he attacked

The LA Times has forgotten about serving the community years ago. It's 100% promote Democrats and bash Trump.

Here in downtown Los Angeles, we have published a paper daily, without fail, since 1881, through blackouts and quakes, riots and a ferocious union bombing that claimed 21 lives.

As we pack up, a bittersweet ode to a workplace that was my second home

Thanks , one of the most honest and well written Times articles I’ve read.

I used to enjoy reading the paper back in the day , but not so much recently .
Will be interesting to see if anything changes once they become the “El Segundo Timesâ€

I didn’t know that but it appeared to me that the way that they cover stories had shifted just recently. I’m thinking that they may become more moderate. That’s more in line with me but less in line with the average Angeleno so it may hurt them long term.

Chicago investor Michael Ferro convened a meeting that included corporate leaders from within his own news empire, including chief news executives from such papers as the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune and The Baltimore Sun. At the dinner, as at other moments, Ferro railed against those who he felt were impeding him — including perceived rivals and competitors. Among them: the Southern California billionaire and civic leader Eli Broad, whom Ferro called part of a "Jewish cabal" that ran Los Angeles.

I cannot believe that someone would believe that that there was a Jewish Cabal that was running LA. It is 2018. That is outrageous and ridiculous. Besides the mayor and a few city council members, I can't even think of anyone who is. Ridiculous and shameful.
