I must have had Pioneer as a kid, but I don't remember how it was.

I haven't had Popeyes in years, but one opened up nearby so I checked Yelp for that location and there were lots of negative reviews regarding how the quality of the food had been declining and the cleanliness of the place, so it turned me off.

Really? I'm surprised. Same as with Popeyes, I hadn't had Church's in forever, but we recently tried it and it was very good. Fresh, crispy, juicy, with good sides. We've been back several times.

I have not had it in ages either, but I remember that greasiness.

I don't like fried chicken period.

Very greasy... if not done right, all the skin/fat falls off, and you end up eating very oily fat fried skin...

Did someone say Pioneer chicken!? Loved that place, my parents would take us there all the time lol. The last time I had Pioneer was about 15 yrs ago and had to drive from Montebello all the way close to DTLA (I think). I don't remember exactly where in LA but I believe it was next to a Montgomery ward. Their chicken strips were, hands down, the best on the planet! Lol... Man I miss Pioneer chicken!
