Sad to say it's not an isolated issue but in many areas throughout Los Angeles. While the mayor and city council are concentrating on fast tracking the legalization of street vendors, crime has continued to sky rocket and the homeless population is way up.

The so called city leaders are a complete joke.

"Neighboring cities of Burbank and Glendale have 10% of the problem that exists in City Council District 7. The officials in those cities allow their police to enforce “quality of life laws” that ours have directed LAPD to ignore."

Exactly.

These problems exist EVERYWHERE that is within the city of Los Angeles, including in the rich areas. This is why anyone who buys property in the city of L.A. at today's inflated prices is a sucker.

The only real solution is to threaten them with recall.

I just this minute signed a recall petition to get rid of governor Brown, and it may well happen with enough signatures.
These people in the affected areas nedt to tell city officials their jobs are on the line if they fail to solve the situation.

Bob.

Agreed re: city officials, but recalling Brown would assuredly mean someone worse would have the job.

Yeah it's a mess . In most cities the politicians listen and want to please homeowners and local residence since they pay their salaries ( taxes) but not so in L.A

It's all about how they can help criminals or the "undocumented"

All these left leaning cities these days are competing to out do each other .
Seattle , NYC , SF, L.A etc

Welcome to the City of Los Angeles.

Instead of caring about what is best for the majority of residents, it bends over backwards to help the couple percent that are causing issues and bringing the city down to the detriment of the majority.

It says a lot that's he's probably the best option of those running to succeed Brown who have a real chance (unless you'd consider John Cox to have a real chance, in which case Villaraigosa would be the distant second best and the only other option even close to being acceptable.)
