I visited Los Angeles but it was only for a day. I would like to see more but unfortunately LA is very sprawling and is not so easy to take public transportation. I know LA has a complex bus system but I hear buses often run late and many Angelinos avoid them. Since I honestly don't want to drive around LA, are ubers or lyfts reliable in LA? Thanks in advance.

Ubers/Lyfts are everywhere. But, they are still subject to LA's gridlock.

Where are you going? Maybe we can help you plan transit, which is generally faster than traffic at least during rush hours.

Yes they are.

BTW the trains are pretty reliable. While the buses do have some problems certain lines are better than others.

ubers/lyfts were pretty reliable when I visited, and actually much cheaper than other major cities like NYC and SF because of lower demand since most ppl have cars.

I would like to go to Santa Monica Pier, Rodeo Drive, and Venice Beach which is near Santa Monica Pier. Thanks a bunch.

Obviously they're reliable. It's the second largest city in America. There are plenty of Ubers.

I suggest Lyft though. They have a much better "demographic" of drivers. Just my opinion.

From where?

Santa Monica Pier is not far from the Expo Line's western terminus. Venice while not near rail transit can be reached via bus transit (MTA, Big Blue Bus, and Culver City Bus all go there). Rodeo Drive is not near rail transit (and the Purple Line's extension to Beverly Hills has been delayed until 2023) but it can be reached via the MTA buses #4 (Santa Monica Blvd.) and #20 (Wilshire Blvd.)

Thanks. Do you know if El Mercado in Los Angeles is worth the visit?

Extremely reliable.

On my last two trips to LA, I didn't rent a car and went all over the area using Uber.

I'm on business often in LA and use Lyft all the time. (refuse to use uber)

Cars are clean, get to my location fast, interesting drivers. Even had an ER nurse who was trying to put his kid through college, without hurting the rest of the family financially.

Thumbs up!
