I am moving to LA in a few months and will be working in Duarte. I will be living with my girlfriend who goes to Chapman in Anaheim. What are some safe areas we could live in to help minimize our commutes? We have been looking at the Diamond Bar area because of its proximity to both towns but since we are not from the area are not sure how heavy traffic will be either way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Traffic from Diamond Bar to the 2 locations you mentioned will be heavy. The 57 is a pretty crummy freeway.

I personally don't know how bad the 57 will be during rush hour. But I will trust and assume BRinSM is right.

Yet, Diamond Bar does seems to be the best area for both your commutes. It's right in the middle and is a nice safe area. Possibilities may also be Walnut or West Covina. Stay close to Grand Avenue. You can catch Grand to the 210. And your girlfriend can go south on Grand and catch the 57.
