I've heard eating more garlic turns off mosquitoes too. Maybe a beans and garlic casserole?

My next door neighbor growing up put cloves of garlic into her pots of refried pinto beans.

Yum.

I know you can fog for mosquitoes but I don't think this is the preferred method.

I've also noticed - elsewhere - mosquitoes so aggressive that they even bite through heavy clothing. And last year I had some bites where I reacted so markedly - huge bumps that lasted for ages - that I didn't even imagine they were from a mosquito and went to see a dermatologist. He said that maybe my reaction was due to a change in my body chemistry but, based on your post, maybe it's an evolution among mosquitoes.

If you do a little research, you can find some off-the-beaten-track repellents that are supposedly more effective. I've also done fairly well with the usual Avon Skin-So-Soft.

Some of those articles are from three years ago. I did find an official notice that seemed like it's a problem since this summer.

Another anomaly: This year, I rarely get bites on my arms. That's also quite different from before.

I walk from my apt to my work every day, it's about half a mile. I think I'm getting the bites there. I don't see any standing water.

Yes, I've noticed this, too. I've had more of a problem with them this year. They always get me while I'm sleeping. I know they're mosquito bites because they buzz around my ears sometimes. I noticed that they stuck around this year even after summer was over. I was wondering if it had something to do with how warm the weather has remained. It also seemed like there were more of them than usual, like I would find more than one in the house at a time.
