Let's say we're talking about a SFH in Echo Park, what would you consider it to be?

Trick question because it doesn't exist. The only thing on the market in that range is a 600 square foot dump. Single family homes in echo Park are going to fun $600k and up in general

You can buy a nice luxury home in L.A. for that amount. However, it will be parked at the marina and it doesn't have a garage because they won't let you drive a car on the docks.

Hmmmm, as far as boats go, 450k is fairly lean unless one goes for a, say, Hunter.

Nice homes are free in LA, all you have to do is just get hooked on drugs and move into any of your choosing when the owners (occupiers) are away and “liberate” it from them. Just be sure to vote D on everything next time ‘round

Median home price in Echo Park is now $850,000 these days .
Median rent $3400 /mo

https://www.trulia.com/real_estate/E..._Angeles/7234/

$450,000 within city of L.A would be considered low income area .

Pacoima maybe you could find a home there . Rougher parts of South L.A .( south la is a large area with many neighborhoods)

Of course homeowner wealth /income in these areas is usually a lot higher than it is for .
renters .

They are building a high rise for the homeless in downtown la .
$500,000 bucks a unit

Looks like it'll be nicer than a lot of the run down Apartments many with "good jobs" in L.A live in .

“One of the things we asked the architect is we don’t want it to look like a housing project,” said Murray, a former state senator. “We want it to look like one of these other first-class downtown apartments.”

The $138-million project would provide 278 new units of affordable housing, most of them for the chronically homeless, and would dominate the block. Weingart’s existing facility, in the 11-story former El Rey Hotel, is already more than twice as tall as any other building around it.

Wow. Talk about waste. That's alot of money for some homeless people. Couldn't they provide housing vouchers?
