They should at least arrest the ones actually causing a disturbance or nuisance by breaking the laws. The a-hole that rides around city hall on a bike screaming at people and raising his arm in the nazi salute is a good start, even if you have to re arrest him every day.

Bratton and Giuliani cleaned up New York by targeting quality of life crimes. Bratton did it here in LA. Time for Garcetti to stop being such a ***** boy and let the LAPD do what they are capable of.

To say issues aren't fixable by the government is just flat out wrong. Government can fix it, the only question is, will the people give them enough power to fix it. (And hopefully not abuse that power).
As an aside, the top elites appear to believe in satanic entities and are rumored to receive counsel from them during their occultist ceremonies. You could make the argument that many of the issues are caused by demonic spirits. However, it would take someone who's put in hundreds, if not thousands of hours of research to understand such an argument.

I'm surprised no one's offered the argument of making ultra-wealthy democrat voters pay for their housing and rehabilitation attempts.

Homeless are everywhere. It’s as bad as I’ve ever seen it and I’ve had intimate association with Downtown LA since 2000. Every time I go into a Subway I just about get yelled at by a crazy homeless person.

Thanks Eric Garcetti!
Yes, there are bridges and freeway exits filled with encampments that didn't have them 5 or 6 years ago. I've also noticed people getting bolder when staking out their panhandling spot, such as standing square in front of Red Box machines or at fast food drive-thrus.

And what should the criminal charge be? You'd be laughed out of a courtroom for violating his First Amendment rights. And as I said in an earlier post, where are you going to put him after arresting him? The penal system is already busting out at the seams. He'd be a cite and release and right back out riding his bike.

If 2017 is recalled for any reason. the most appropriate might be that it was the year that Los Angeles passed New York in the "race to the bottom" -- the most dysfunctional metro in North America.

He has hit people before and he impedes traffic. Lock him up every time he does it, even if it’s just for the night.

No kidding, I've said that at least 20 times in these homeless threads. People don't seem to realize that police resources are not unlimited and you either writing him a citation which means nothing, or you spend the rest of the night trying to 5150 him where he will get released with a script for psych meds and hour later and sent on his merry way.

And no, I'm not exaggerating:

"Los Angeles Police Department officers transported 15 psychiatric patients to county-run hospitals that day and spent more than 64 hours waiting to hand those patients off to hospital staff, department records show." Long waits outside L.A. County psychiatric units stall patients, police - LA Times

Let's not pretend conservatives will help the poor, with all the funding cuts to important and health and other resources. Please stop this charade conservatives, you don't care about the poor. Cut universal healthcare, care only about businesses and never raise minimum wage. As long as the rich and corporations don't pay high taxes, you all are happy.

So please stop insulting us by saying you will help solve homeless issue.

That happened long before 2017. Try 1992
