But there were over 2500 LADP employees that made over $100k from last reports I've seen and many over $200k, $300k, $500k and even some helicopter pilots over $800k so money is getting spent on salaries at least in LA

Try this. Might want to sit down first.

https://transparentcalifornia.com/agencies/salaries/

Something to think about when you go into a public office and see some employee in the background fiddling around on their phone, tablet or facebook.

The taxpayers are going to keep getting run over until we put our foot down.

What that site doesn't tell you is about the ridiculous benefits and pensions they are getting as well. I know someone that worked for LAPD and others that are currently there who have 2 months paid vacation every year and people constantly go out on fake disability claims to milk the tax payers more. My friend worked with a lady that went on paid leave for a year because she fell off her chair in the office and hurt her back. She came back when disability ran out and got hurt again like a month later and went back on paid leave. And because of the unions it's nearly impossible to ever fire any of these people

My company offers free legal services as one of the job perks (I think it's through MetLife). Any time someone in my group gets a ticket, they just create a case reference number, hand it off to an attorney, and then forget about it. Have never had to pay one (I enlisted the service once when I got one out in middle-of-nowhere Nevada, trying to get the hell out of middle-of-nowhere Nevada), though I have no real idea how it is they get out of them. I'm sure there are attorneys out there who will make it go away for a hundred bucks a pop or something.

I know for a fact that neither the police union or the firefighter's union will tolerate Work Comp fraud. You get caught, you're on your own. I'll agree that the city doesn't do enough to investigate Work Comp abuse. As a police officer or a firefighter, you hold a position of trust, whether on-duty or off-duty. And that includes not defrauding the city and the taxpayers.

As far as pensions and benefits are concerned, blame the politicians who gave them out, not the recipients. The mayor and city council are the ones holding the taxpayer's purse strings, not the employees or their respective unions.
