I love when these Democrats get on stage at some Bernie Sanders rally and say things like "I've worked at McDonalds for 20 years and haven't made more than minimum wage."

Some people find that as an injustice. I'm over here thinking, "You couldn't find someone else to pay you more money in 2 decades?"

15,000 of them ended up homeless when the City allowed most of the SRO hotels to be torn down:

From an article about LA Skid Row:

"Since the early 20th century, many of the City’s working poor, unemployed, disabled and otherwise marginalized residents have found homes in the single-room occupancy hotels located throughout this relatively small neighborhood. But between 1950 and 2000, 15,000 residential hotel apartments, the most affordable housing in Los Angeles, were destroyed, threatening Skid Row’s residential community and forcing thousands of people onto the City’s shelters and sidewalks" History Timeline - Skid Row Housing Trust

I think you estimated the number of homeless in LA City limits to be 30,000 right? Those SRO rooms would have kept half of them off the street, what a shame...and now you blame the homeless themselves rather than the City. I wonder how many palms were greased by the developers who needed the Cities blessing to tear down those SRO's? Sure would be interesting to know, wouldn't it?
I hear Sacramento is a lot more affordable . You don’t want the homeless you advocate for virtually in L.A to live in your city ? Hmmmm sounds hypocritical..

Land is a lot cheaper in SacTown plus all the top politicians are there to watch over them . Sacramento makes a lot of logical sense .
The SRO properties could be sold for sky high prices to developers since downtown la is a super hot market now and that money invested up north in Sacramento .

About as “clearly rhetorical” as all of your ‘questions’ in all threads ... very hard to ever know with you since you have a habit of pulling sharp and non-sequiturial turns at every intersection at high speeds, brotherman

What you (both) are missing in your sanctimonious superciliousness is that there are several circumstances under which it is perfectly reasonable for a person to work at low levels of employment scales throughout a career.

1. Not all people are driven to - or necessarily capable of - being very competitive ... intellectually limited or just born introverted, etc.

2. Not all people are focused on material wealth as their primary goal - this includes many persons who contribute value to society in arts, family homemaking, volunteerism for causes and idealistic pursuits ... willing to sacrifce personal gain for environmental benefits, supporting the disabled, mentoring youth, as just a few examples.

3. Some people find themselves tied to making sacrifices and accommodations to serve family, where fast food or janitorial work allow schedules to fit needs

All that said above, I’d like an actual example from you, CR, of someone at a Bernie Sanders rally saying what you paraphrase.

What is your point? The homeless can't afford housing in Sacramento any more than they can afford it in Los Angeles. We don't want your homeless, go negotiate your "deal" with San Diego, it's much closer

I'd love to see the video of that...since I'm pretty sure you didn't go to Bernie Sanders rallies then you must have seen it on TV or the Internet, could you post a link to it please?

So you believe none of the homeless have the capability to ever work again ?

Let’s say they get the help they need , Sacramento makes a lot more sense versus L.A since it’s more affordable . But I guess the goal for you isn’t to eventually get people self sufficient .
Interesting.

Also it shows you don’t have the taxpayers in mind . Totally fine with them paying double or more to House the homeless in L.A versus a lower cost area . Very telling .
