Is there still gang activity in Venice nowdays? And Pico neighborhood?

What about, Venice Crip and Venice 13, are they still in this area? How safe it is?

It's been cleaned up somewhat. The Oakwood area is still not that safe.

From another thread on Venice:

V13 still exists, although reportedly none of them actually live in Venice. Not much gang activity in Venice anymore, though, not even in Oakwood.

Homeless are a MUCH bigger problem these days, THE big problem in Venice just as gangs were in the 90s.

Yup , a lot of interesting stories involving our homeless friends here

Funny how a lot of that stuff doesn't make it into the news .

As others have said, Venice doesn't really have any sort of gang feel to me (I work around there) - but the homeless are completely out of control. But that's true of the entire area up and down the coast.

One of the only places in America homes are over $1 million yet there is a gang and horrible homeless issue .

Gotta love that "sunshine tax "

The Mission District in SF too, which has considerably more gang activity than Venice.
