They have expanded and are now in the Palms-Culver City area. With that new construction near Venice and Robertson both Culver City and Los Angeles have been adding new car parking restrictions on the city streets

if you have never rode the bird scooters you truly are missing out.

They are extremely fun, and you really wouldn't know until you rode one.

All my friends that come and visit from out of town are like "wow people are lazy for riding these scooters" then they ride one, and they're like "wait, this is really freaking fun" This is legit everyone's reaction I have yet to see someone ride one for the first time, and did not want to ride them again.

The concept of them is priceless though, it gives the rider a flexible way to cover a lot of ground.

I recently became a charger last month, and every week I've been making and more money up to $200 a week. I think the most ill be able to do by myself is $350 a day, and in a month I should be there.

I enjoy riding the scooters so now I just get paid to go to the beach.

I know many chargers who have quit their day time jobs to become power chargers, and many make over $500 a day, and employ other people to help.

It's insane how much potential there is to make money, when I go down to the beach people are trying to take my dead scooters.

Bird is soon to valued at one billion after not even a year, that's California right there!!

Interesting . The thing I’ve seen with these startups is they will often pay good in the beginning and then it becomes saturated and pay goes down . Take a look at Uber early on people were making great money .

$500 a day but how much do they pay in employees ? What does it cost in electricity? You charge them at home ?
The billion dollar valuations sound impressive but it doesn’t mean these companies are profitable and usually they aren’t .

It’s been years and it seems everyone now knows and has used Uber but they still lose money .

Sounds like a nice gig for you , best of luck . Keep in mind things can change fast with these startups and government often steps in to regulate too ,
Sounds like cities are talking about doing that with these electric scooters .

Cops are handing out 200 dollar scooter tickets for no helmet so the city is making good money off of them.

Ten months on, the Santa Monica City Council is preparing to vote Tuesday on a 16-month pilot program, due to begin Sept. 17, that would rein in scooter rental companies such as Bird and the recently launched Lime.
The proposal includes higher permitting fees, a cap on the number of scooters allowed in the city and tougher rules that, if broken, would result in the rental company losing its permit to operate in the city.

Riding bikes and scooters is fun for sure but wearing a helmet is a must!

I work in Palms so I see only a few riders with helmets. Since Culver City PD tends to be much more aggressive than LAPD I wonder if folks are getting tickets south of Venice?

A 200.00 fine is way too much, but, I think a warning is good for first offenses. I do understand why people don't like to wear them or want to carry them around tho..but man for safety's sake wear one!~

th
The employees are the ones making $500 a day, but the company is definitely making more than that.

If you go to the beach often like me it's really convenient. Better than going to the beach, and not making any money I don't drive my car or anything, they cost about 3-5 cents per scooter to charge and you make $5-20 per scooter.

Yeah, i'm not dependant on it, but $200 a day is really nice atm for me. lol
