I think I have read that Verizon's FIOS network exists in the LA Area, does it cater to the suburbs and smaller cities, while, ATT provides TV and Internet service to the City of Los Angeles...It seems over here Dallas has ATT for TV and Internet services, while many of the suburbs and smaller cities have Verizon Fios for TV and Internet, of course I know Coax Cable is an option, but I like FIOS and ATT's U-Verse better

Time Warner Cable, Charter, and Cox provide the Cable services.. TWC has the biggest as they had their own and purchased Comcasts areas in southern california as well.

Verizon FIOS is available all around, but rollout has been slow going.

DSL service is available from a whole range of providers.

Default DirecTV

My friend's house burned to the ground in thhe recent Station Fire in California. DirecTV charged him a non-return equipment fee of almost $300. When he tried to explain about the fire, they told him they were actually doing him a favor because the fee for lost equipment was $400!!

I'll echo the comments in this thread - TWC, ATT, Verizon DSL ... Fios is avail here and there, but usually depends on the area.
