Hi all,

Have some job interviews coming up in LA area near LAX airport and wanted to find out some good places to rent with a fairly easy commute? Budget is 2k a month and looking for 2 bedroom place to rent in a safe area where I don't have to spend hours in traffic each day.

$2K a month for a 2bedroom isn't going to get you much. You are priced out of Westchester, Playa Del Ray and El Segundo at this point.

Maybe View Heights? Windsor Hills? North Inglewood? Hawthorne could work but it's a bit far from much.

Doesn’t exist.
North Torrance and Redondo Beach are best options. Lawndale and Hawthorne are ok if you can handle a bit ot sketch,

Lax will be a 30 min or so commute. Century City will be an hour commute at rush hour most days

Try looking in Palms. There are some 2 bedroom apartments there for $2000, it’s about 20 min from LAX, depending on time of day. I agree though that it’s a pretty low budget for a 2 bedroom.

Where on earth do you see a 2bed available for $2k in Palms?

There’s a number of them currently on Westside Rentals. I’ll try to copy/paste some of the listings, but doesn’t always go very well with my iPad...

This one is $1895

This one is $1950

There are another 3 listed for $1995, one for $2000, one for $2100, and then a bunch around $2200.

But in general I agree, it’s pretty hard to find a 2 bedroom for $2000. OP, if you can bump your budget up by 2-300 per month, you will find a much wider range in quality and location.

Yeah looks like I need to move to a cheap place like Kansas or Missouri to survive. Weather sucks but I cannot afford to keep paying obscene California rents.
