There’s not much in Palos Verdes. South Bay is another matter. I suggest google and yelp. I’ll give two recommendations....one is Dominique’s Kitchen in Redondo Beach. Make reservations, esp if it’s a weekend.

Home | Dominique's Kitchen

The other is a hole in the wall Mexican place called Diana’s in Carson. Very low end, delicious carnitas.

Could you be more specific? Fancy-pants restaurants? Hole-in-the-wall joints? Specific cuisine?

On the peninsula, The Red Onion is popular.

Let me finish your sentence....

Amongst the blue hairs. Anyone else with operating taste buds avoids Red Onion like the plague.

In Palos Verdes, check out Terranea Resort, they have some really good restaurants there (Nelson's, Catalina Kitchen, Mar'sel, and Bashi), all in beautiful settings overlooking the cliffs and the Pacific. In Manhattan Beach, Love & Salt is amazing, MB Post is good too, and The Strand House has great views. In Hermosa, Abigail, Palmilla and Baran's 2239 are all great. In Redondo, Rebel Republic, Sophie's Place and Bettolino.

FYI Palos Verdes is part of the South Bay.

Adding Fishing with Dynamite to this list, in MB. Same owner/chef of MB Post.

FWD is probably my favorite, but then again, I love seafood. The Arthur J is their steakhouse, which is good, but not much to differentiate it from other very good steakhouses.

If you're looking for something more kid-friendly, we like Mama D's for Italian. Also kid-friendly (and if you don't mind dining at a mall) we go to Din Tai Fung at the Del Amo Mall for delicious soup dumplings and noodles all the time.
