Or is there still a chance of it come to fruition with the help of Measure M? Despite all the excitement I have for the purple line extension set to be complete by 2024, there are still a ton of gaps. I'm blown away there is no coverage for areas like WeHo that could connect to say The Grove/Fairfax district.

That route is one or 3 possible routes for the Crenshaw line extension to Hollywood.

That route goes to La Cienega Blvd, then turning on Santa Monica Blvd (Cedars Sinai, Boystown)

The other routes go on Fairfax to Santa Monica Blvd (for the Grove /Fairfax District)

Last route goes on La Brea straight to red line.

Each route is being studied and that takes years. Then youll have find funding because all the other lines are also in the same process. I think this line is way back on the waitlist of projects.
I think the current list of upcoming is the Goldline into Claremont, Gateway Cities towards Cerritos. South Bay extension to Torrance, Eastside connection to El Monte or Whittier, 405 from West LA to the SFV. Vermont BRT.

While there wont be a Metro staiton in West Hollywood in the next decades, at least in a 5 years, many people in the Weho, Fairfax District, Beverly Grove neighborhoods will be closer to some rail a few miles to the south on the Wilshire Purple Line. What would enhance it are express buses that can shuttle people to the stations from a central point with few stops in between. The Grove and Wilshire/Fairfax is about a 12 minute moderate walk. And the DASH and MEtro buses take a 3 minute drive in light traffic. 20 minutes in heavy.
