"I love the weather." It's boring... you have summer, and summer light.

"It's liberal". What's liberal about paying several thousand dollars in rent for a modest apartment?! Or millions to buy a house that's worth maybe 50k tops?!

"I'm here to make it! This is where dreams come true in the entertainment industry!" Grow up! You aren't 12!

"I want to pay a ridiculous sum of money to have the privilege of traveling 20 miles in an hour and a half." Wouldn't you prefer to park your car in your drive way rather than the 405?!

Why do so many buy into it?
Diversity and trendiness and entertainment.

The best restaurants, bars, karaoke lounges, sports, arts, theater, and music in the world.

OK, NYC is probably better on every one of those counts, but it's way more expensive...

Los Angeles is hands down North America’s best. Keep in mind cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia/NY are all alike. Los Angeles is Los Angeles. I truly feel blessed to live in the best city on Planet Earth.

Actually, none of those cities are alike. They're as different from each other as you think LA is different from all of them.

LA is a great place but it sure ain't perfect.

No place is.

Everybody is stressed to the max here. Me and my friends are all natives and are getting our exit plan in order. The weather just isn't enough anymore....
We are natives and also PROBABLY Arizona bound in about 6 yrs when husband retires. Going to where we can carry a gun legally - you are darn tootin. We no longer have great faith in some of the people who are here in California squatting. You just do not know what might happen and we can't carry a gun so why stay? We are also seniors. We want to protect ourselves.

Weather is no longer a deal breaker let me tell you. Pick up the newspaper or read online. The killing up in Rolling Hills (Palos Verdes) really spooked me. Who ever did it...slit her throat. That's pretty gruesome. There is NO respect for seniors anymore. NONE. I want to have faith in fellow man but California has turned too far to the left - and the politicians are just plain stupid.

If we ever have a serious disaster - like a big earthquake we are in serious trouble. The gangs will be out in force - start stealing from the people who stocked up on food- supplies. It just will be bad. Think about this for a minute. No electricity for days - or food. Look what happens when we have riots in California - they go nuts. Burn buildings - steal merchandise - food.

Newsome main campaign promise is against guns so get ready. Hope you can protect yourself enough in the next 6 years. I'm so dreading November... it's going to be a bumpy road. (Pun intended).

Hey, it's not liberal. It's leftist/socialist. Thomas Jefferson was liberal, the classic liberal. These so called liberals have more in common with Adolph Hitler! Anyone who stumps for higher taxes because they are on the dole and bigger government is a a true collectivist. If you don't live on the coast you are really suffering. Get out now while you still can. Illegal immigrant crime will overwhelm you. If you stay make sure you arm yourself while you still can.

It's doubtful that there are many people receiving government assistance who "stump for higher taxes." The rest of your sentence doesn't make sense.

The murder and property crime rates in LA are lower than Phoenix.
