I’m not sure what you mean. I think that most Egyptians are proud to be Egyptian. The same way that Italians are proud to be Italian or Japanese or whatever. They all know where they came from, right?

Regardless of the race, if they were born here, they are American, and there is no need to mention the origin of their ancestors regions.

Of course we were born here. African American is a race, not a place. What race do you call Asian Americans?

Default Not Unreasonable

I mean there have always been many areas in towns all over the country named or designated according to ethnic demographics. Wakanda while unoriginal, is a good start for a place like Leimert Park, that has been as historically significant to the cultural growth of Los Angeles as Olvera Street or Little Tokyo.

African American is NOT A RACE, it is a nationality.

Nope. Africa isn’t a nation. And are you avoiding answering the question? What do you call Asian Americans?

Africa is a continent, and people there have a nationality, it is not a race.
Race is ethnicity, Black, Brown, Caucasian, etc.

The black people living in Africa are black Africans, black being their race, African is their nationality.
People living in France are french.
Some living there are black, but they are still french.
You are confusing race with nationality.

Let's take the United States as an example.
You are an American by nationality, because you were born here, but you are Italian by race because both your parents were Italian.
Now do you get it?

As for Asian Americans, the same rule applies to them as well as all who live and reside in America, if they are citizens.
They may be Chinese, Japanese, Cambodian etc, but that is their race, not nationality, if they are citizens of America.

Bob.

Well there you go. You have some problem with the term “African American” because we’re all Americans yet are comfortable using “Asian American”.
