Today I had the pleasure of listening to my girlfriend gripe about how many homeless people have asked her for money while visiting Long Beach this week.

One story she told me was a guy came up to her as she went inside of a 7/11 and asked if she could donate her change when she came outside.

I'v always thought this was the best way to panhandle if someone is gonna do it. To me it shows the smallest amount of initiative that a man will go up and politely ask every single person and is on his feet doing it.....

But I might be the only person who thinks so. What do you all think?

That’s just disrespectful to be by an ATM. You KNOW you’re making people uncomfortable if you’re doing that

You think the average panhandler cares about respect or making people uncomfortable or not ?

The one that was annoying was the guy that tried to ask me for money while waiting in the drive thru . I had been looking down at my phone so it caught me off guard .

I didn’t roll my window down , but you shouldn’t be going up to people’s cars like that .

It’s always bad for business having homeless pandhandlers around . Some people will just avoid going to those places entirely if they know homeless will be hitting them up .

There is for people that are using panhandling to get to another place in life. Some folks want help but also know what it’s like to be a normal person and understand what would make them uncomfortable may not be the best approach

Maybe it could come with applications to all of the nearby places hiring, some socks, a gallon of water, and a ten dollar gift card to McDonald’s!

That would be helpful
