So im going to do a day up in the santa ynez valley around solvang and buellton.

My plan is to a sideways type wine hopping tour but short.

I was thinking maybe three wineries and we get to see the fields a little and taste a few of their wines.

I dont want spend a lot of time at one winery.

Can anybody tell me how to do this and how much it will cost?

And can somebody reccomend some good cheaper wineries?

I see the 125 per person groups of 10 at some places not sure if thats a little much for what i want

For anybody who is interested in doing this, I did and I have some answers ... for myself, lol.

There's several winery 'storefronts' in Santa Ynez. Some are at the actual grape fields, and some are downtown in mostly Solvang and Los Olivos. The wineries will charge you a per person fee to sample a handful of different wines, usually $25 and up.

Most wineries don't offer tours of their grape fields, but at least one does.

If you want to do the grape tours, make sure the grapes are in bloom because they were not when I went.

If you do go, it's quite easy to 'winery hop' at the downtown storefronts.

All in all, Santa Ynez has a very upper crust feel to it.

It's cute and the whole location I would say is worth a day if you either really like wine, like to drink, or really like the movie Sideways.

I was the latter.
