Hi I did not see a stickied thread for tourists. I know I'm the umpteenth California wannabe visiting asking what's good to do over here, so please don't flame me if I missed the general thread. Basically, last time was a real wreck. Went with my gf and it stunk cause all she did was whine about how her feet hurt and slept. So I'm doing another trip by myself.

Things that impressed me from the first trip. I really enjoyed west hollywood...Did my run of rainbow, whiskey etc. Keeping with that kind of bar scene in mind what are some other spots in that vein to check out?

Also I really like hiking, when I'm not drinking. What's a good park to check out to do some climbing?

Thanks for being courteous in advance

Tripadvisor forums are better for asking touristy questions since there are a dozen questions every day being asked on where to stay, what to do, where to go. City-data forums are not that great since it is more of a political forum with occasional relocation topics.

For bars, Best use Yelp.com and type in Bars in Hollywood or Bars in Downtown or whatever area you plan to stay. Usually hundreds of reviews and pictures sometimes. Thats what I use to find best restaurants or new places or get reviews.

Dont know hiking except Griffith park and thats not even hiking. Thats just uphill walking in the park hills. No climbing at all.
