We’re planning a move to CA within the next 6 months. We can’t afford LA; however, can anyone point us to decent, affordable rentals about an hour outside of LA? I’m a nurse/musician, partner is a musician. Help is much appreciated!

What can you afford? One hour away is not far in LA so unless you have a decent paycheck or a lot of saved money, the answer is likely to be .... nothing you can afford that close.

Hmm. Yes, ridiculous rent is also a given on the east coast as well. Are there reasonable rents in decent neighborhoods further inland? Say, TWO hours from LA? 😁

One of my former tenants moved to Joshua tree, in the southern desert, and he has told me (we talk on the phone about once a month) quite a few people his age(mid thirties) are moving there, and for some reason musicians seem to be attracted to the area.
